The National E-Governance Services Limited (NeSL) on March 16, 2026, issued circular regarding the Deactivation of Article Codes for the Following States.
The National e-Governance Services Limited has announced the deactivation of certain article codes on its Digital Document Execution (DDE) platform for digital e-stamping across multiple States and Union Territories, effective April 1, 2026.
Registered users, including banks and NBFCs, are advised not to use these deactivated codes from the effective date. All pending documents using such codes must be completed before April 1, 2026, failing which incomplete documents will be removed from the system.
Users are required to carefully select the correct article code and applicable stamp duty for each transaction. The responsibility for proper stamp duty payment rests with the executing bank or submitter, and NeSL will not be liable for any deficiencies.
This step has been taken as part of NeSL’s periodic internal review to streamline and improve the efficiency of the digital e-stamping process.
