The Central Depository Services Limited (CDSL) on March 16, 2026, notified regarding the Validation of KYC Records with KRA as on March 26, 2026.
The following has been stated:
• It has directed Depository Participants (DPs) to take action on demat accounts linked to invalid or non-validated KYC records identified by KYC Registration Agencies (KRAs). Based on PAN data updated from February 01 to February 28, 2026, DPs have been provided with lists of such deficient accounts.
• These identified demat accounts will be frozen for both debit and credit transactions on March 28, 2026, under reason code “27 – KYC non-compliant,” considering updated data as of March 26, 2026. For reactivation, DPs must follow the prescribed unfreezing procedure as per the earlier CDSL circular dated September 05, 2023.
