The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on February 09, 2026, issued provisions of the Passenger's Mobile Number and Email ID at the Time of Booking of Air Tickets.
The following has been stated: -
•Passengers must provide their own mobile number and email ID while booking air tickets to ensure direct communication.
•Use of travel agents’ or intermediaries’ contact details instead of passengers’ details is prohibited.
•Airlines and booking platforms must ensure compliance, sensitize agents, and conduct regular checks.
•The measure aims to improve communication, enable timely refunds/compensation, and enhance passenger experience.
