Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) on March 17, 2026, issued the Draft Insecticides (Amendment) Rules, 2026, further to amend the Insecticides Rules, 1971.

The following has been stated: -

•Amendments to the Insecticides Rules, 1971 allow a single licence for multiple sale/stock locations within the same jurisdiction.

•Licensees can apply for endorsement to add new insecticides or additional sale locations during the licence period by paying prescribed fees.

•Applicants must submit a principal’s certificate (Form VI-D) or may provide a qualified nominee certificate as per the eligibility norms.

•Licence fees are fixed at ₹500 per insecticide (max ₹7,500), with reduced fees (one-fifth) for rural areas.

•A new Appendix I (Nomination Form) is introduced, and endorsement fees are set at ₹100 per insecticide (max ₹2,000) with concessions for rural areas.

Objections or suggestions may be submitted within 30 days from March 18, 2026.
