The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on February 19, 2026, notified regarding the Compliance Submission of DGCA Mandatory Modifications.
The following has been stated:
• The circular (Airworthiness Section 2 – Series F amendment) mainly deals with updated requirements for issuance and maintenance of airworthiness certification. It clarifies that aircraft (whether manufactured in India or imported) shall strictly comply with approved design and safety standards before being granted or extended a Special Certificate of Airworthiness (C of A).
• It also mandates that test flights shall be conducted wherever required before issuing a maintenance release, ensuring the aircraft is fit for safe operation as per DGCA regulations.
• The amendment strengthens compliance with existing Civil Airworthiness Requirements by aligning procedures for certification, inspection, and operational readiness of aircraft.
• Additionally, the circular was issued in draft form, inviting comments/suggestions from stakeholders, indicating a consultative approach before final implementation.
