The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) on March 16, 2026, issued a notification regarding Nano Fertilisers under the Fertiliser Control Order, 1985.
The following has been stated: -
•The Government, under the Fertiliser Control Order, 1985, has approved multiple nano fertilisers (e.g., Nano Urea, Nano DAP, Nano Zinc, Nano NPK) for two years.
•Specific nutrient content and nano-size standards (≤100 nm particles, defined zeta potential) have been prescribed for each product.
•Approved manufacturers include companies like Coromandel International, Nano Fertilizer Pvt. Ltd., and others.
•Manufacturers must avoid forced sales, clearly label usage instructions, and provide crop-wise application details.
•They are also required to conduct farmer demonstrations at Krishi Vigyan Kendras to promote awareness and usage.
