The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoW&CD) on March 18, 2026, issued a notification regarding Women & Child Welfare and Empowerment Initiatives.
The following has been stated: -
•The Ministry of Women and Child Development runs three key schemes: Mission Shakti, Saksham Anganwadi & Poshan 2.0, and Mission Vatsalya for women and child welfare.
•Mission Shakti has two sub-schemes: Sambal (safety measures like OSCs, WHL, BBBP) and Samarthya (empowerment programs like PMMVY, HEW).
•SANKALP: Hub for Empowerment of Women acts as a central coordination and support system for scheme access and convergence.
•The Department of Science and Technology promotes women in STEM through WISE-KIRAN, supporting ~900 women in 2025–26.
