The Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services, Home Guards & Civil Defence, Odisha, on March 07, 2026, issued a circular regarding the maintenance of a database of fire-risk premises under the Odisha Fire Prevention & Fire Safety Rules, 2017.
The following has been stated: -
•Under the Odisha Fire Prevention & Fire Safety Rules, 2017, authorities must identify and ensure safety compliance of fire-risk premises.
•Odisha Fire & Emergency Services is directed to maintain a detailed physical and digital database of all such premises at the fire station level.
•Data must be compiled within set timelines and updated quarterly, with mandatory submission of Fire Safety Certificates (FSC) and Recommendations (FSR) to respective fire stations.
•In case of absence of designated officers, a substitute officer (not below Station Officer rank) must be nominated, and strict compliance is required with any deviation treated seriously.
