The Municipal Corporation Una (MCU), on September 23, 2025, notified the “Municipal Corporation Una Erection, Exhibition, Affixation of Advertisement and Hoarding Bye-Laws, 2025” under the provisions of the Himachal Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act, 1994, after inviting and considering public objections and suggestions.
The bye-laws establish a comprehensive framework regulating advertisement hoardings within the municipal limits, mandating prior written permission for any installation, defining application procedures, and specifying conditions for approval, location, size, and display. They also prohibit unauthorized hoardings, restrict installations in sensitive areas, and ensure compliance with safety, aesthetics, and public interest considerations.
Further, the bye-laws prescribe penalties for violations, including daily fines, removal of unauthorized hoardings, and possible withdrawal of civic amenities. They also provide for compounding of offences and summary trial, thereby ensuring effective enforcement and orderly regulation of advertisement activities within the jurisdiction of the Corporation.
