The authority, National Commodity Clearing Limited (NCCL), on March 19, 2026, issued a circular to clearing members regarding the release of collateral, in reference to the Securities and Exchange Board of India circular dated July 27, 2022, on the settlement of running accounts of client funds.
As per the circular, clearing members are permitted to submit requests for release of Cash, Fixed Deposit Receipts (FDR), and Bank Guarantees (BG) on an immediate basis up to 7:00 PM on April 2, 2026. This facilitates timely settlement and liquidity management for members.
Further, NCCL has stated that it will endeavour to process such requests within one hour of receipt on April 2, 2026, subject to the availability of collateral after necessary margin checks. This measure ensures efficient collateral management and compliance with regulatory requirements.
