Industry Specific ComplianceThe Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on February 2, 2026 issued an advisory circular (ANSS AC 01 of 2026) providing guidance on the installation, siting, calibration, and maintenance of Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance (CNS) equipment. The advisory emphasizes the importance of proper system management to ensure signal integrity, availability, continuity, and reliability for safe aviation operations.

The circular highlights that appropriate siting of CNS equipment is essential to avoid electromagnetic interference (EMI) from nearby transmitters, power lines, or other sources that may disrupt navigation signals. It further stresses that regular calibration and maintenance are necessary to address environmental changes such as weather conditions, vegetation growth, or nearby construction, which may affect system performance over time.

This guidance applies to all Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) responsible for CNS services and aims to ensure efficient and safe functioning of aviation systems by maintaining operational accuracy and reliability throughout the equipment lifecycle.
