Secretarial ComplianceThe National Stock Exchange (NSE) on March 20, 2026, notified regarding the Information on Inactive Custodial Participant codes to trading members.

The following has been stated:

• NSE has introduced a facility for custodians to share details of inactive Custodial Participant (CP) codes with trading members, where no clearing and settlement activities will be carried out. Custodians will upload this data via the N-MASS system, and the list will be made available to members daily in a specified file format. 

• The facility will be effective from March 27, 2026, with defined timelines, file structure, and validation rules. 

• Custodians shall ensure accurate and updated information, while members can use this data to avoid transactions through inactive CP codes, thereby improving operational efficiency and reducing settlement risks.
