The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs has amended tariff values under Section 14(2) of the Customs Act, 1962 by updating Tables 1, 2, and 3 of Notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.).
• No change in tariff values for key items including:
o Crude & refined palm oil, palmolein, and crude soybean oil
o Brass scrap
o Areca nuts
• Precious metals (unchanged values):
o Gold: USD 1481 per 10 grams
o Silver: USD 2262 per kilogram
• The notification replaces the existing tables entirely but retains the same tariff values for all listed goods.
• Effective date: March 21, 2026
Overall: This is a routine update with no change in tariff values, ensuring continuity in customs valuation for specified commodities.
