The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on March 06, 2026, issued the date of establishment of amendment of Indian Standards (IS).
The amendment of the following IS have been established on February 23, 2026, namely: -
• IS 1577 : 2019 Tobacco and Tobacco Products — Cigarettes — Specification (Fourth Revision) - Amendment No. 1 February 2026
• IS 1769 (Part 2) : 2019 Cigars and Cheroots — Specification Part 2 Cheroots (Third Revision) - Amendment No. 1 February 2026
• IS 14332 : 2018 Tobacco and Tobacco Products — Hookah Tobacco Paste — Specification (First Revision) - Amendment No. 1 February 2026
• IS 14647 : 2022 Tobacco and Tobacco Products — Quiwam — Specification (First Revision) - Amendment No. 1 February 2026
• IS 16897 : 2018 Tobacco and Tobacco Products — Portion Packed Snus — Specification - Amendment No. 1 February 2026.
The aforesaid amendment shall be in force without the amendment till August 20, 2026.
