Secretarial ComplianceThe Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX), on March 23, 2026, issued a circular outlining enhanced security requirements for members accessing trading systems through the SSL VPN solution. The circular also extends the deadline for discontinuation of VPN support on Windows 10 till the close of business hours on March 28, 2026, based on member requests.

MCX has mandated that members must migrate to Windows 11 for continued VPN access beyond the extended deadline and ensure strict adherence to desktop security protocols. These include use of licensed and updated operating systems, installation of endpoint security solutions, regular system patching, enabling firewalls, and restricting unnecessary services. Additionally, members must follow prescribed SOPs for VPN login and maintain proper user access controls.

The Exchange has further emphasized best practices such as avoiding public Wi-Fi, keeping VPN software updated, using strong passwords, and preventing usage of trading systems for non-related activities. MCX reserves the right to audit compliance, and failure to adhere to these requirements may result in disruption of trading connectivity.
