The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 (DPCO, 2013) has computed and proposed the retail price of a combination drug containing Cefuroxime Axetil 250 mg and Clavulanic Acid 125 mg based on July 2025 data.
As per the calculation under Para 5 of DPCO, the worked out and proposed retail price is ₹38.35 per tablet (excluding GST), which is significantly lower than the claimed price of ₹65.00 per tablet. This price fixation applies to the formulation manufactured by M/s Associated Biopharma Private Limited and marketed by M/s German Remedies Pharmaceuticals Private Limited.
The notification ensures price regulation of this antibiotic combination to maintain affordability and prevent overpricing in the market, aligning with the objective of DPCO to make essential medicines accessible at reasonable prices.
