The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) on March 20, 2026, notified regarding the Initiation of Sunset Review Investigation of Anti-Dumping Duties on “Certain Flat Rolled Aluminium Products” from China PR.
The following has been stated:
• It has initiated a sunset review investigation on anti-dumping duties imposed on certain flat rolled aluminium products imported from China PR, based on an application by Hindalco and other domestic producers.
• The existing anti-dumping duty, imposed in December 2021 for five years, is set to expire in December 2026, and the review aims to assess whether its removal would lead to continued or renewed dumping and injury to the domestic industry.
• Prima facie evidence indicates that dumping margins remain significant and imports from China continue to adversely impact domestic producers through reduced profitability, market share, and capacity utilization.
• The investigation covers the period April 2024–September 2025 (18 months), along with earlier years for injury analysis, and invites submissions from all interested parties within prescribed timelines via the DGTR portal.
• Overall, the authority will determine whether continuing the anti-dumping duty is necessary to protect the domestic industry from ongoing or potential injury due to dumped imports.
