Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) on March 20, 2026, notified regarding the Sunset review investigation of anti-dumping duties imposed on imports of “Axle for Trailers” originating in or exported from China PR.

The following has been stated:

• The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has initiated a second sunset review investigation on anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of “Axle for Trailers” from China PR, based on an application by the domestic industry (York Transport Equipment India Pvt. Ltd.).

• The existing anti-dumping duty, originally imposed in 2016 and continued after the first review in 2021, is currently valid till January 2027, and this review examines whether its continuation is necessary.

• Prima facie evidence suggests that dumping from China is continuing with a positive dumping margin, and removal of duty may lead to the recurrence of injury to the domestic industry.

• The investigation period is October 2024 to September 2025, with injury analysis covering previous financial years, and all interested parties are invited to submit data through the DGTR SETU portal within prescribed timelines.

• Overall, the authority will determine whether expiry of the duty would likely result in continued dumping and harm, and accordingly decide on extension of the anti-dumping duty.
