The notification aims to streamline regulatory compliance for establishments covered under multiple labour laws.
It provides that establishments already registered under the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020 shall be exempted from complying with registration requirements under Sections 13 and 13A of the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1958. This step is intended to eliminate duplication in the registration process.
The exemption will be effective from the date of issuance of the notification and is aimed at simplifying procedural compliances and reducing regulatory burden for businesses operating in Chandigarh.
