Secretarial ComplianceThe Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on March 25, 2026, issued the Addendum to SEBI Circular on Borrowing by Mutual Funds.

The following has been stated:

• SEBI issued a circular on March 13, 2026, prescribing guidelines on borrowing by mutual funds, which were incorporated in its Master Circular dated March 20, 2026.

• The circular specifically laid down norms for intraday borrowings by mutual funds under clause 5.9.1.

• However, due to operational challenges faced by asset management companies, SEBI has deferred the implementation of these intraday borrowing guidelines.

• The revised effective date for these provisions is now July 15, 2026, ensuring smoother compliance.
