The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on March 25, 2026, issued the Consultation Paper on Framework of IT Resilience Index for Market Infrastructure Institutions (MIIs).
The following has been stated:
• SEBI issued a consultation paper proposing an IT Resilience Index (ITRI) for Market Infrastructure Institutions (MIIs) to assess the health and robustness of their IT systems.
• The index aims to provide periodic, system-driven insights into IT performance, helping MIIs identify weaknesses and improve operational resilience.
• A uniform framework is proposed to enable comparability across MIIs using standardized parameters and weightages.
• Key parameters include availability, security, integrity, governance, business continuity, reliability, scalability, and flexibility, totaling 100 weightage points.
• MIIs shall compute the index half-yearly, submit a comparative analysis, and report corrective actions to SEBI.
• The framework emphasizes automated (non-manual) computation to ensure objectivity and accuracy.
• Public comments on the proposal are invited till April 15, 2026, before final implementation.
