The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) on March 25, 2026 has issued a press release announcing special measures to facilitate policyholders during the financial year-end 2025–26. The initiative aims to ensure smooth servicing and avoid any inconvenience to customers.
Insurers have been advised to keep their branches open on March 31, 2026, during normal working hours to assist policyholders in completing transactions and addressing pending requests. This is intended to support customers during the critical closing period of the financial year.
Further, insurers have been directed to give adequate publicity to this special arrangement so that policyholders are aware and can benefit from the extended availability of services.
