The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on March 24, 2026, issued the amendments in provisions of Telecommunication Tariff Order and Accounting Separation Regulations.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has issued the Telecommunication Tariff (72nd Amendment) Order, 2026 and Accounting Separation (Amendment) Regulations, 2026.
• These were finalized after stakeholder consultation on draft regulations released in October 2025.
• The amendments revise financial disincentive provisions, introducing graded penalties, capped limits, and interest on delayed/non-payment.
