Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Ministry of Finance (MoF) on March 26, 2026, notified regarding the Levy of Special Additional Excise Duty on Aviation Turbine Fuel.

The following has been stated:

• The Central Government under the Finance Act, 2002, has introduced a Special Additional Excise Duty on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF). 

• A new entry has been inserted in the Eighth Schedule prescribing a duty of ₹50 per litre on ATF. 

• The decision has been taken due to urgent circumstances requiring immediate action. 

• The notification comes into force with immediate effect.
