Commercial ComplianceThe Government of Himachal Pradesh on November 27, 2025 has notified the “Outdoor Advertisement Bye-Laws, 2025” under the Himachal Pradesh Municipal Act, 1994. The bye-laws aim to regulate outdoor advertisements and hoardings within the municipal limits to ensure orderly development and public safety.

The bye-laws mandate prior written permission from the Executive Officer for display of advertisements, while specifying exemptions for certain categories such as government notices, business-related displays, and election-related advertisements. It also imposes strict restrictions on placement of hoardings, including prohibition near highways, water sources, trees, sharp turns, and ecologically sensitive areas, along with size limits and safety considerations.

Further, detailed provisions have been introduced regarding advertisement zoning, road safety, illumination standards, and prohibition of distracting or hazardous displays. These measures are intended to preserve environmental aesthetics, ensure traffic safety, and maintain regulatory control over advertisement activities in the Municipal Council Jawali area.
