The Skill Development and Technical Education Department, Odisha on February 17, 2026, issued the Scheme Guidelines for UTKARSH ITI Yojana (Scheme for Upgradation of ITIS as Zonal ITIs).
The following has been stated namely: -
• The Government of Odisha has launched UTKARSH ITI Yojana to upgrade 5 Government ITIs as zonal centres to strengthen the TVET ecosystem.
• The scheme focuses on modern infrastructure, smart classrooms, digital learning systems, and industry-aligned trades (e.g., robotics, semiconductor, CNC, 3D printing).
• Key objectives include enhancing employability, promoting entrepreneurship, introducing future-ready skills, and supporting nearby ITIs through knowledge sharing.
• Implementation will be handled by the Skill Development Department, ensuring compliance with national training standards (DGT/NCVT norms).
• The scheme has a budget of ₹500 crore, to be implemented over FY 2025–26 to 2027–28, aiming to build a skilled, industry-ready workforce.
