The School and Mass Education Department, Odisha on February 02, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Mukhyamantri Poshan Yojana
The following has been stated namely: -
• The Government of Odisha launched Mukhyamantri Poshan Yojana to provide hot cooked mid-day meals to Class IX & X students in Government and aided schools.
• The scheme aims to improve nutrition, increase enrolment, attendance, and retention, and ensure equitable access to food.
• Initially, the unit cooking cost was ₹10.94 per student per day, aligned with the PM POSHAN scheme.
• The cost has now been revised to ₹14.74 per student per day (effective May 01, 2025) to maintain parity and improve meal quality.
• The additional financial requirement will be met through the scheme’s budget allocation, with approval from the Finance Department.
This is effective from April 01, 2025.
