Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) on March 10, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Initiation of anti-circumvention investigation regarding countervailing duties imposed on imports of “Saccharin” originating in China PR and exported from Thailand.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The Designated Authority has initiated an anti-circumvention investigation to examine whether imports routed through Thailand are undermining existing duties on China.

• Evidence suggests a change in trade pattern, with increased imports from Thailand (possibly of Chinese origin) at lower prices, impacting domestic industry.

• The investigation covers Saccharin in all forms (HS Code 29251100), with the period of investigation: April–September 2025.

• Interested parties must submit responses via the SETU portal within prescribed timelines, and provisional assessment of imports may apply pending final findings.
