The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) on March 25, 2026, revised the ceiling prices of Ringer Lactate Injection formulations based on the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) increase of 0.64956% for the year 2025 over 2024. The revised ceiling prices apply to various pack sizes ranging from 100 ml to 1000 ml with special features, and are effective from April 1, 2026.
The notification mandates that manufacturers selling these formulations above the notified ceiling prices must revise their prices downward, while those with lower MRPs may revise prices in accordance with WPI provisions under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013. The revised pricing applies to specified manufacturers and branded products as listed in the notification.
Manufacturers are also required to comply with procedural requirements including submission of price revisions, issuance of updated price lists, and adherence to GST provisions. Non-compliance with the notified ceiling prices will result in recovery of overcharged amounts along with interest under the applicable legal framework.
