The U.T. Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, on March 27, 2026, issued Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Marine Fishing Regulation (5th Amendment) Rules, 2025, to amend the Goa, Daman, & Diu Marine Fishing Regulation Rules, 1982.
The following has been stated: -
•The Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu has amended the Marine Fishing Regulation Rules, 2025 under the relevant Act.
•The amendment introduces mandatory use of Turtle Excluder Devices (TED) in fishing trawlers.
•A TED is a device that allows sea turtles to escape from trawl nets.
•No trawl net can be used for fishing without installing a TED before the cod end of the net.
