The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoP&NG) on March 29, 2026, issued a notification regarding preparedness amid the West Asia Situation.
The following has been stated: -
•Government is ensuring energy security despite Strait of Hormuz disruption, with sufficient fuel stocks, high refinery output, and controlled LPG distribution.
•Measures include reduced fuel excise duty, increased domestic LPG production, prioritised gas supply, and action against hoarding and panic buying.
•Maritime operations remain stable, with Indian vessels and seafarers safe, ports functioning normally, and active monitoring by authorities.
•India is supporting its nationals abroad through evacuations, advisories, helplines, and coordinated international travel arrangements.
