The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) on March 25, 2026, has revised the ceiling prices of specified scheduled formulation packs under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013, superseding earlier price orders issued during 2025. The revised prices, based on WPI increase of 0.64956% for 2025 over 2024, are exclusive of GST and will be effective from April 1, 2026.
The notification provides pack-wise and manufacturer-specific applicability, clarifying that only certain formulations listed in Table A will apply to particular manufacturers mentioned in Table B. Manufacturers must ensure that prices of the specified formulations do not exceed the notified ceiling prices, while those with lower MRPs may revise prices in line with the permitted WPI adjustment.
The order also reiterates compliance obligations, including submission of price revisions (Form-II), issuance of price lists (Form-V), quarterly reporting (Form-III), and prior approval for new drugs. Non-compliance, overcharging, or failure to report may lead to recovery of overcharged amounts with interest under DPCO, 2013 read with the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, and all previous related price orders stand superseded.
