The Government of Maharashtra, on March 23, 2026, notified the Maharashtra Private Universities (Establishment and Regulation) (Amendment) Act, 2026, further to amend the Maharashtra Private Universities (Establishment and Regulation) Act, 2023.
The following has been stated: -
•The amendment to the Maharashtra Private Universities (Establishment and Regulation) Act, 2023, adds a new university entry to Part II of its Schedule.
•It includes Subhadra’s Novel Bhosale Private (SNBP) University, Pune, with headquarters at Chikhali, Pimpri-Chinchwad.
•The university will operate multiple campuses at Mamurdi, Wakad, and Rahatani in Pune.
•It is sponsored by Subhadra’s Educational Society, Yerawada, Pune.
