Secretarial ComplianceThe Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) on March 30, 2026, issued UNSC Press Release and Sanction List.

Pursuant to communication from Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has issued updates (Notes SC/16323 and SC/16324 dated March 26, 2026) amending entries in the 1267 sanctions list relating to individuals/entities linked to ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida.

Stock exchange members are advised to ensure strict compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CFT) obligations, including screening of all existing and new accounts to ensure no linkage with sanctioned individuals or entities, in line with Section 51A of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 and SEBI AML/CFT guidelines.

Members must also report delisting requests to the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of External Affairs, and guide affected persons to the UN Ombudsperson mechanism for removal from sanctions lists. Regular monitoring of updates on the SEBI website is required to ensure ongoing compliance with evolving UNSC sanctions.
