CBIC notified regarding the Updated Customs Tariff Valuation Tables for Key Imported Goods

Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on March 13, 2026, issued the amendment to notification no. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.), dated August 03, 2001 regarding “Tariff Values for Edible Oils, Precious Metals, and Areca Nuts”

The following has been stated namely: -

• The notification issued under the Customs Act, 1962 revises tariff values for various imported goods by substituting new Table-1, Table-2, and Table-3.

• Edible oils and commodities (Table-1): Updated tariff values include items like crude palm oil (USD 1112/MT), RBD palm oil, palmolein, crude soybean oil, and brass scrap.

• Precious metals (Table-2): Tariff values fixed at USD 1652 per 10g for gold and USD 2820 per kg for silver, with detailed classification for different forms (coins, bars, etc.).

• Areca nuts (Table-3): Tariff value remains unchanged at USD 7020 per metric tonne.

The revised tariff values come into effect from March 14, 2026.
