The notification introduces standards across diverse sectors including emerging technologies, industrial equipment, communication systems, nuclear safety, and information management.
Key inclusions are IS/ISO/TR 6039:2023 on blockchain and distributed ledger identifiers (new adoption), along with revised standards such as IS 7136:2026 (Megaphones), IS 9558:2026 (PTFE Piston Depth Gauge), and IS 14230:2026 (C-Band Parabolic Dish Antenna). Additionally, significant updates include IS 14481 (Part 1):2026 relating to radiation monitoring systems in nuclear facilities, and IS 15994 (Part 2):2026 on metadata for records management aligned with ISO standards.
The earlier versions of the revised standards will continue concurrently until September 20, 2026, after which they will be withdrawn, ensuring a smooth transition for stakeholders to adopt the updated specifications.
