Labour ComplianceThe Department of Labour, Haryana, on March 30, 2026, issued a notification regarding exemptions for Shops & Establishments. 

The following has been stated: -

•Haryana Government allows shops and commercial establishments registered online (self-certification) to operate beyond standard opening/closing hours and weekly off provisions. 

•Women can work night shifts (8 PM–6 AM) with separate approval under specified conditions. 

•Employees cannot work more than 48 hours per week and 10 hours per day, with total duty (including rest) capped at 12 hours daily. 

•Overtime must be paid at double the normal wage rate, and a rest break of at least 30 minutes is required after 6 hours of work. 

•All other labour laws must be followed, and the notification must be displayed at the workplace; exemption does not override other government or police rules.
