The Delhi Khadi and Village Industries Board on March 30, 2026, issued the Delhi Khadi Kaushal Vikas Yojna.
The following has been stated:
• The scheme is launched to generate sustainable employment for artisans, workers, school/college dropouts, and entrepreneurs in Delhi, applicable to residents living in Delhi for at least five years.
• It focuses on providing training, modern tools, and upskilling support to improve micro and small-scale units, while promoting handmade products and local economic development. Eligible beneficiaries shall have Aadhaar, register on the e-Shram portal or related platforms, meet skill qualifications prescribed by the National Skill Development Corporation, and show willingness to participate.
• The scheme includes features such as free training with food provision, certification with ID cards, digital literacy for e-marketing, marketing and branding support, toolkits like sewing machines, and access to e-commerce platforms like ONDC. It also ensures assessment, certification, and linkage to employment or self-employment opportunities.
• Progress is monitored through KPIs such as registrations, certifications, demographic inclusion, and training completion, along with audits and feedback mechanisms. Training is offered across multiple job roles, including tailoring, IT support, merchandising, and khadi apparel production.
• The scheme is implemented by the Delhi Khadi and Village Industries Board (DKVIB) and funded by the Government of NCT of Delhi.
