Industry Specific ComplianceThe Department of Food & Public Distribution (DFPD) on March 19, 2026, issued a communication regarding the 7th reallocation of sugar export quota for the sugar season 2025-26, in continuation of the earlier approval permitting export of 15 LMT of sugar along with prescribed modalities.

The circular states that, as per the guidelines dated November 14, 2025, sugar mills are allowed to exchange export quota with domestic monthly release quota. Based on requests and mutual agreements submitted by sugar mills, the Department has examined and approved such exchanges.

Accordingly, additional export quantities have been allocated to eligible mills, and corresponding adjustments have been made in their domestic monthly release quotas as detailed in the annexure.
