The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers (MoC&F) on March 30, 2026, issued a notification regarding the temporary suspension of Quality Standards for Linear Alkyl Benzene.
The following has been stated: -
•The Central Government has amended the Linear Alkyl Benzene (Quality Control) Order, 2022, issued under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
•Due to global supply chain disruptions, strict compliance with Indian Standards is temporarily relaxed.
•The exemption applies from April 01, 2026, to July 01, 2026.
•This step aims to ensure the uninterrupted availability of Linear Alkyl Benzene in the public interest.
