Industry Specific ComplianceThe Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on March 27, 2026, issued Guidelines for carriage of Central, State, and other dignitaries by aircraft.

The following has been stated: -

•The guidelines ensure safe air travel for Central, State, and other dignitaries, especially during election flying, replacing earlier safety circulars.

•Operators must strictly follow aviation rules, avoid undue pressure on crew, and use reliable twin-engine aircraft with a qualified crew.

•VIPs should be informed about aircraft limitations, while flight planning and safety decisions remain solely with the crew.

•Proper documentation, baggage screening, and prior approval of helipads/airstrips from district authorities are mandatory.

•Aircraft must meet strict airworthiness standards, including valid certification, maintenance checks, and required equipment.

•Highly experienced and qualified flight crew are required to ensure safe and efficient operations of such flights.
