The Government of Gujarat on April 01, 2026, issued a notification regarding announcement of Special Allowance under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948.
The following has been stated: -
•The Government has announced daily Special Allowance rates under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, based on the Cost of Living Index for April 01, 2026, to September 30, 2026.
•For 46 scheduled employments, including ship breaking and cleaning work, the allowance is ₹10.50 per day.
•For six sectors, such as brick manufacturing, garment, salt, bidi, and agriculture, the allowance is ₹147.00 per day.
•These rates are in addition to the basic wages fixed by the Government.
•The notification is issued by the Deputy Labour Commissioner, Gandhinagar, as the competent authority.
