The Excise & Taxation Department, Chandigarh Administration on March 10, 2026, issued the Punjab Liquor Permit & Pass (Chandigarh 01st Amendment) Rules, 2026, to further amend the Punjab Liquor Permit & Pass Rules, 1932, as in force in the Union Territory Chandigarh.
These Rules shall come into force with effect from April 01, 2026.
The following shall has been substituted in Rule 22 (b):
• “22(b) The licence fee for L-42 (Permit for possession & consumption of liquor on special occasions) shall be charged as under: ₹5,000 per day for Chandigarh Municipal Corporation community centers/open space/residence/bhawans.
• ₹10,000 per day for hotels/restaurants/banquet hall/marriage palace/commercial places etc.”
