The Ministry of Steel, on March 31, 2026, issued an order regarding the exemption of input adherence of Stainless Steel flat products.
The following has been stated: -
•The Ministry has granted exemption from mandatory input adherence for stainless steel flat products under IS 6911, IS 5522, and IS 15997.
•This decision follows the earlier order dated November 20, 2025, and representations from importers.
•The exemption applies to imports with a Bill of Lading shipped on or before September 30, 2026.
•The measure provides temporary relief to stainless steel importers from compliance requirements.
