The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on April 01, 2026, issued an update in the Reserve Bank of India (Urban Co-operative Banks – Financial Statements: Presentation and Disclosures) Directions, 2025
The following has been stated: -
•The Reserve Bank of India has issued Directions for presentation and disclosure of financial statements by Urban Co-operative Banks.
•These Directions come into effect upon publication on the RBI’s official website and apply to all such banks.
•Banks must prepare Balance Sheets and Profit & Loss Accounts as per the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 formats.
•Compliance with Accounting Standards issued by ICAI and RBI guidelines is mandatory for uniform reporting.
•The Directions also provide detailed guidance on accounting practices, disclosures, and treatment of specific financial items.
