The National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) on April 02, 2026, issued a circular regarding measures to instill trust in the securities market - Expanding the framework of Qualified Stock Brokers (QSBs) to more stock brokers.
The following has been stated: -
•SEBI has prescribed criteria under recent circulars and regulations to designate certain brokers as Qualified Stock Brokers (QSBs) based on size, client base, trading volume, assets, and margin obligations.
•A list of designated QSBs has been issued (Annexure A), based on these parameters (not ranked).
•Brokers not meeting criteria can voluntarily apply for QSB status by April 30, 2026.
•QSBs must comply with enhanced obligations, governance standards, and additional responsibilities as per SEBI and exchange guidelines.
•Previously designated QSBs not in the new list must continue compliance for up to 3 financial years as directed.
