Secretarial ComplianceThe Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) on April 02, 2026, issued a notification regarding the closure cum shifting of the Demat Account.

The following has been stated: -

•Depository Participants (DPs) are reminded of earlier guidelines on closure-cum-shifting of demat accounts as per CDSL communication. 

•For transfers with identical PAN holding patterns (intra/inter depository), the Client Master Report (CMR) is not required. 

•If PAN is missing for any holder in CDSL records, DPs must obtain and verify the CMR from the Beneficial Owner. 

•DPs are advised to ensure strict compliance with these updated procedures.
