The Ministry of Labour & Employment (MoLE) on March 03, 2026, issued the Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers on base 2016 = 100.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The table shows the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Industrial Workers (Base 2016=100) for January and February 2026 across various states and centers in India.
• The All-India CPI slightly decreased from 148.6 (Jan 2026) to 148.5 (Feb 2026), indicating marginal easing in overall price levels.
• CPI values vary significantly across locations, with higher indices in places like Puducherry, Tirunelveli, and Mancheriyal, and lower values in cities like Jaipur and Bhilai.
• Some centers recorded increases (inflation) between January and February (e.g., Guwahati, Angul-Talchar), while others saw declines (e.g., Chennai, Raipur).
• The data is compiled and released by the Labour Bureau, and is used to track cost of living and inflation trends for industrial workers.
