The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), on April 02, 2026, released the list of Domestic Systemically Important Insurers (D-SIIs) for FY 2025-26, identifying insurers whose failure could significantly impact the financial system.

For FY 2025-26, there is no change from the previous year, and the following insurers continue as D-SIIs:

Life Insurance Corporation of India

The New India Assurance Company Ltd.

General Insurance Corporation of India

D-SIIs are insurers with high market importance and interconnectedness, whose distress could disrupt the domestic financial system. Due to their systemic significance, they are subject to enhanced regulatory supervision, including stronger corporate governance, risk identification, and robust risk management frameworks.
