The Government of Madhya Pradesh (MP), on March 26, 2026, issued a draft amendment proposing inclusion of additional items under the heading “XV - Agriculture Medicinal Produce” in the Schedule under Section 2(1)(a) of the relevant Act. The amendment seeks to expand the list of notified medicinal agricultural produce by adding items such as Aloe Vera Leaf, Gokhru, Nagarmotha, Nirguni, Amarbel, Sahjan Leaf, Nilgiri, Indrayan Fruit, Senna Leaf, Senna Seed, among others.
The proposal has been published in the Madhya Pradesh Gazette for the information of all stakeholders likely to be affected. The objective is to regulate and bring additional medicinal produce within the statutory framework, thereby ensuring better oversight, trade facilitation, and market standardization for such commodities.
The Government has invited objections and suggestions from the public and stakeholders within six weeks from the date of publication. All representations received within the prescribed period will be duly considered by the State Government or the Managing Director before finalizing the amendment.
